Reynoso Art: Beautiful Taboo

Rondall Reynoso

This is Beautiful Taboo #7.

Beautiful Taboo #7
Beautiful Taboo #7, pastel & acrylic on canvas, 24″ x 24″, 2009

The idea of this series is tied to the human body. It the body is a beautiful thing but within religious circles there is also a huge taboo related to the body. This series of work explores the tension between the beauty and taboo of the body. The images are drawn from art historical references, figure studies, and kitsch images.
