Within hours of the shooting, Homeland Security Director Kristi Noem labeled Good’s actions an “act of domestic terrorism.” Former President Donald Trump called her “disorderly” and falsely claimed she ran over the officer, who he said was injured and recovering. However, video footage shows the ICE officer walking away without signs of injury. Vice President JD Vance also took to social media, blaming Good for her own death and calling the incident “simple.” Vance asserted that Good tried to run over the officer, though the videos remain inconclusive.

Multiple videos show Good appearing confused by conflicting commands from officers. Witnesses suggest she may have been attempting to leave the scene, not attack anyone. One bystander identified themselves as a physician and tried to offer aid.
