Dominic J. Foor, a 39-year-old Ohio pastor, has been indicted on multiple charges of sexual misconduct involving minors. Despite the legal proceedings, Foor is actively preaching at a new church, where many in the congregation stand firmly behind him.
Multiple Charges for Alleged Abuse Over Two Years
A Pickaway County grand jury indicted Foor on June 5 with 11 counts of sexual battery, six counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, and six counts of importuning. The alleged abuse reportedly occurred between November 2022 and November 2024. Court documents identify the victims as two teens, now aged 16 and 18. Foor is currently free on a $250,000 bond, under orders to stay in Ohio and avoid contact with the alleged victims.
Shift to New Congregation Draws Scrutiny
Foor previously served as pastor at Pathway Apostolic Church, affiliated with the United Pentecostal Church International. He left that role in December 2024. John Palmer, a bishop in the denomination and Foor’s former supervisor, confirmed Foor’s departure and disassociation from the church. Foor is now preaching at New Direction Church, a nearby non-denominational congregation.
Supporters Defend Foor’s Character and Ministry
Nikki Trago, a board member at New Direction, staunchly defends Foor. She cites his religious leadership and influence, noting his role in baptizing her entire family. Trago claims Pathway Apostolic only distanced itself after learning Foor began preaching elsewhere. She emphasizes the belief among New Direction congregants that Foor remains innocent and spiritually credible.
Alleged Victims’ Backgrounds Questioned by Supporters
Trago said the alleged victims moved in with Foor and his estranged wife after their dying father requested it. According to her, both teens had unstable home lives and had previously accused others of abuse. She also stated no physical evidence or DNA linked Foor to the alleged crimes. Trago added that past accusations made by the teens had been dismissed and that a family member plans to testify in Foor’s defense.
Criminal Past Adds to Public Concerns
Foor’s criminal history includes convictions for burglary, robbery, drug possession, and weapons charges between 2003 and 2010. His record has intensified concerns among critics, who question his fitness to lead a congregation and care for minors.
