Candace Owens built her brand on sharp insults and viral conflict, and the Candace Owens conspiracy controversy keeps widening. Now she aims that fury at conservatives, as former allies recoil and speak out. On Feb. 25, she launched โBride of Charlie,โ a podcast series attacking Erika Kirk, who took over Turning Point USA after Charlie Kirkโs murder last fall. Owens calls Kirk unqualified, and she urges donors to stop supporting the group.
โBride of Charlieโ Amplifies Inside-Job Claims
The new series follows Owensโ December allegation that Charlie Kirkโs death was an inside job. She suggested TPUSA employees โbetrayedโ him, and she floated foreign involvement as well. TPUSA has stayed quiet, but its website still hosts dozens of posts by Owens. Owens previously worked with TPUSA from 2017 to 2019, but the organization asked her to leave after positive comments about Adolf Hitler.
Earlier Macron Series Fueled the Spiral
Owens also drew attention with โBecoming Brigitte,โ an eight-part series in 2025 about French First Lady Brigitte Macron. She claimed, without evidence, that Macron was born male, and Macron sued her for defamation. Owens then said France wants to kill her. She frames such allegations as โtruth bombsโ and โmind yoga,โ and the Candace Owens conspiracy controversy has helped her gain millions of followers.
Conservative Institutions Break Ranks
Daily Wire, PragerU, and other groups that once worked with Owens have condemned her. Daily Wire cofounder Ben Shapiro called her attacks on Erika Kirk โsatanic,โ and he pointed to Owensโ pattern of escalation. Owens joined Daily Wire in 2020, but it dismissed her in 2024 after repeated antisemitic claims. Reports said she promoted blood-libel tropes and claimed โsecret Jewish gangsโ rule Hollywood.
Alliesโ Concerns and Detractorsโ Warnings
PragerU founder Dennis Prager pressed Owens in a 2024 letter because he believed her statements fueled suspicion of Jews and Israel. Owens did not respond, but PragerU still features her as influential. The Anti-Defamation League also criticized her antisemitic tropes and conspiracy claims. Focus on the Family erased references to her, and it later warned about โsensationalโ and โdisturbing claimsโ without naming her. Supporters argue she challenges elites and demands answers, but detractors say the Candace Owens conspiracy controversy spreads reckless falsehoods and targets grieving people.
