Heffelfinger resigned as pastor and as principal of the church’s K-12 school, and he and his wife entered intensive marriage counseling in Indiana.
Elders urge unity as supporters and detractors clash
Elders acknowledged “recent developments,” paused several ministries, and later read Heffelfinger’s resignation letter to the church. They said many wanted him to stay, but he stepped down after seeing pain. Supporters of Christensen and the Linns argued leaders hid the full truth and exaggerated threats. Detractors backed the elders, blamed a disruptive “wolf,” and warned the church faces financial strain as members leave.
