Metcalf said the Upstate New York District learned of credible allegations in late 2025 and removed Geistdorfer from ministry at the Owego Church of the Nazarene. She added that the district is working with “appropriate authorities,” but it did not describe the alleged wrongdoing. The district also did not provide the exact date of his removal.
Owego church offers counseling but stays quiet
Owego Church of the Nazarene posted a pop-up announcement about a “difficult time,” and it offered confidential third-party counseling. The message acknowledges people may feel wounded, angry, or disillusioned, but it does not name Geistdorfer. He is no longer listed as staff, yet the church has not publicly explained the change.
Geistdorfer preached on deliverance before disappearing
In mid-January, Geistdorfer preached about deliverance and described repeated attempts to quit drinking and drugs. He said he only stopped when God delivered him, and he promised he would never return. The following week’s service was canceled due to weather, but an older sermon link appeared online. By Feb. 8, Geistdorfer was absent from the online service, and former worship pastor Ben Logsdon preached instead.
Redeemed Community Church launches with redemption theme
On Feb. 8, Geistdorfer began teasing a new church, and on Feb. 10, he announced Redeemed Community Church at the Beautiful Barn in Candor, about 10 miles from Owego. He said RCC will keep pastoring and sharing the gospel, but he did not disclose the allegations or his removal. He urged viewers to focus on the journey rather than the backstory.
Supporters’ hopes and detractors’ concerns
Supporters may see Redeemed Community Church as an opportunity for restoration and ministry outreach, especially given its connection to Renewal Ranch. But detractors may worry about accountability and transparency, because the alleged wrongdoing remains undefined. After TRR contacted Geistdorfer, his Facebook settings were changed, making his account and announcement inaccessible.
New church operations and fundraising
RCC met for the first time on Feb. 15 with a series on “holes in our holiness,” centered on Joseph’s life. The church has not filed as a nonprofit with the IRS, but it is raising money by selling hoodies through Renewal Ranch.
