Is Blogging Scholarship?

Rondall Reynoso

This is a great little video that I ran across on twitter. It was shared by John Fea from Messiah College who was on the panel. The panel was at the Organization of American History so the discussionis geared toward that discipline but it is interesting none-the-less.

For me, I do consider this blog as part of my scholarly process though I rarely have put completed ideas on here. The idea of professional positioning is interesting to me. My scholarship has two sides both my creative artistic production but also my more traditional academic scholarship. But, my “traditional” academic scholarship exists in the odd location between religion, art, and philosophy. This blog in many ways also exists in that space with an added personal dimension. Anyway, the panel discussion is interesting.

One idea I loved was the idea of a peer reviewed blog. That could be a really interesting idea…if I only had more time.
