Politics and the bride of Christ.

Every once in a while you run across an article where all you can you is node approvingly and say “Amen.”  7 Things Christians Need to Remember About Politics by Bryan Roberts is one such article.

Here are just a couple of my favorite quotes:

  • “Political discourse is the Las Vegas of Christianity—the environment in which our sin is excused. Hate is winked at, fear is perpetuated and strife is applauded. Go wild, Christ-follower. Your words have no consequences here. Jesus doesn’t live in Vegas.”
  • “Paranoia and vitriol are hardly attractive accessories for the bride of Christ.”
  • “Rather than engage in the political process, Christians have a duty to elevate it.”

There is so much more packed into this short article. It is definitely worth the read!

Also, let me plug Bryan Robert’s blog. I just now discovered it while writing this post and it has some really good stuff. I especially like the post entitled The Church, The Election, and Chick-fil-A.
